I rarely endorse anything, especially something that is 15 minutes long, however this wedding video is so amazing. I don’t feel as creepy saying its the best wedding video knowing that I did go to high school with the beautiful bride (although I haven’t spoken to her since) but seriously you’ll cry! Its that good!

The birds are a bit terrifying and you have my permission to fast forward through some of the nana part, but I’m telling you - you won’t be sorry you watched it.

7 Things to Avoid When Choosing Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses.

1. Pick a color palette- and stick with it
It doesn’t have to be an exact representation of your wedding colors, if you have four colors that are strong in your wedding and you have seven bridesmaids, limit the color choices to two or less. If your bridesmaids don’t need the stress of coordinating together, the fewer colors you have in your wedding party, the better it will look and the easier it will be. Too many choices will lead to a less cohesive look.

2. Create boundaries on variety of color
There are many different shades of the exact same color. Brides can choose to have their ladies in one color with a variety of different shades, or be specific to one. Neutrals, including grey, are very popular amongst brides choosing mismatched bridesmaids dresses.Neutrals give mismatched dresses a more unified look than any other color. Bridesmaids sometimes make you feel like flexibility makes it easier on them, but sometimes not being specific makes it harder on them because the possibilities are endless.

3. Be Careful with Patterns
Patterns can be scary. You may be a wiz with them but is your future husband’s sister on the same page? When all else fails skip patterns. Instead, choose textures. Lace, ruffles, fringe, studs, stitching, etc. You don’t want your wedding photos to look as silly as early nineties beads, shoulder pads and big hair. Choose a classic look.

4. Don’t take away individuality
There is nothing worse than wearing something that feels like someone else picked it out. In our opinion, one of the greatest benefits of mismatched dresses is allowing the unique energy of the person to show through in their dress selection. So allow your bridesmaid to chose something that works with their personal style, body type and personal preferences. Their comfort will show through on your big day.

5. Don’t let one girl stand out
If everyone is different, then no one will stand out, right? Communication is key on decisions. The more options you give your bridesmaids the more areas or directions they could take. One girl out of the synch of others can throw off the entire look.

6. Sometimes more is not more
Over accessorizing bridesmaid’s looks can begin to look costume like. If you want each girl to have unique touches, pick small, subtle items that reaffirm the look of your wedding and blend in, not stand out.

7. Don’t try too hard
The look of mismatched bridesmaids should look in a way effortless. Relax, its just a day, but the photos last forever. You’ll want you and your girls to look happy, comfortable and confident.
